'''Bayeux''' is a Brazilian municipality in the state of Paraíba in the northeast of the country. It belongs to the João Pessoa metropolitan region and is located west of the capital João Pessoa. The population was estimated by the Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE) to be around 84,000 in 2025.
== Geografía y clima ==
Bayeux is located in the coastal area of Paraíba at an altitude of about 7 meters above sea level. The municipality is located in the catchment area of the Rio Paraíba do Norte.

The climate is tropical with high temperatures and relatively high rainfall all year round. The average temperatures are usually between 23 and 32 °C.

La región de Bayeux se desarrolló como parte de la expansión colonial de Portugal en los siglos XVI y XVII e inicialmente se desarrolló en relación con la industria de la caña de azúcar.

The name Bayeux 1944 was chosen based on the French city of Bayeux, which had recently been liberated from the Nazis in World War II. Before that, it was the name of the town of Barreiros and before that Boa Vista. En 1948, Bayeux se convirtió en distrito. This belonged to Santa Rita (Paraíba)|Santa Rita before it received the status of an independent municipality in 1959.

The population was estimated at around 102,000 people in 2025. The population is heavily urban.

Bayeux's economy is closely linked to the João Pessoa metropolitan area. The city functions as a residential and industrial location with importance for trade and services. João Pessoa Airport is located partly within the territory of the municipality.

Bayeux belongs to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Paraíba. In addition to the Catholic Church, Protestant Free Church communities are also represented.
